Sibiya: They Are Our Nemesis

TS Galaxy Queens mentor Sizwe Sibiya addressing the Rockets media team ahead of his side's clash against University of Western Cape.

Sizwe Sibiya, TS Galaxy Queens coach, discusses the effects of a long preseason and facing nemesis, the University of the Western Cape, on the first weekend of the Hollywoodbets Super League 2026 season.

The postponement of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) delayed the start of the 2026 Hollywoodbets Super League season. Sibiya says the twelve-week preseason with no idea when the season will begin was a blessing in disguise.

"In preparation for the season. I would say it is long overdue. One could call it a blessing in disguise. I believe we have been here for twelve weeks. And this is not typical of any team's preseason. There are a few factors. At some point, you have to raise it a little higher." Sibiya informed the TS Galaxy Queens media team." Said Sibiya.

With the league's fixtures announced, Sibiya is relieved because he can now prepare his team to meet the demands of his opponents. Sibiya lets out a huge sigh of relief as he prepares to face the University of the Western Cape, led by coach Thinasonke Mbuli.

"At least we now know. The schedule has been released, and we will be playing the University of Western Cape this weekend. One might say our adversary. They have a top coach and players, and we take on each challenge as it comes. "We are a team that always delivers," Sibiya emphasized.

The former TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies head coach is pleased with the new league format, which will see his team compete in the Super Era alongside Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, University of Western Cape, Diepkloof Ladies, University of Johannesburg, University of Pretoria, and Ezemvelo.

"This is a new format. On Saturday at 12:00 PM, we will play our first match against the University of the Western Cape at UJ Stadium in Soweto. We enjoy that pitch as a team. It's a nice carpeted field, and hopefully the teams before us don't ruin it for us. Hopefully, we'll play our normal football." Sibiya came to a conclusion.
