Stellenbosch Ladies will compete in the Super Era stream against South African football giants such as defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, University of Johannesburg, Ezemvelo, University of Pretoria, TS Galaxy Queens, University of the Western Cape, and Diepkloof Ladies. According to coach Nathan Peskin, his team is in a learning mode this season.
"It is difficult you know. Physical preparation is one thing. And, that is the only thing in our control. I think with everything else, you have to learn as you go. We are not in a fortunate position to have been in the league for years. Our players are inexperienced and they will have to learn as they go. You can coach tactics and prepare them physically but experience they will have to pick it up, quickly." Peskin said.
Nthabeleng Modiko, the University of Johannesburg's head coach, says her team is also rebuilding after losing some of its marquee players. With Ayesha Moosa and Idrielle Mibe among the most notable departures recently, followed by some of coach Modiko's key players, 'Dunga' joked that her team is almost a new kid on the block as they rebuild a competitive roster.

"It is known that we lost two of our best players to overseas and also local teams. And, as a University team, we know that every year we are changing. We are rebuilding. We lose players because they are graduating and others move on to other teams. We are a team that is also rebuilding. So, possibly we are also a newbie. This is actually a wonderful time to have another university institution coming on board." Said Modiko.
